This page explains what happens to your information when you use themidlifemovementmethod.com. It is written to describe what this site actually does rather than to cover every eventuality. Silver Linings Retreats Ltd operates both this site and silverliningswellbeing.com, and the fuller policy there applies to the business as a whole.

Who we are

The Midlife Movement Method is run by Silver Linings Retreats Ltd, company number 10205595, registered at 85 Great Portland Street, London, England. We are the data controller for the information described here.

For anything on this page, write to admin@silverliningswellbeing.com.

What we collect, and why

If you ask us for the free guide, we store the email address you give us, your first name if you give one, and the exact sentence you agreed to when you ticked the box. We also record the page you were on, the time, your browser's user agent and your IP address. Those last four are not marketing data. They are the evidence that you asked to hear from us, which the Information Commissioner's Office expects us to be able to produce.

If you buy something, the payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

When Meta measurement is switched on, our checkout also records your IP address and browser type alongside the payment, for the same purpose.

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and which are not. If you arrive from a link we have tagged, your browser stores the campaign tag so we can tell which channel sent you. You can clear it by clearing your site data. When you ask for a guide, we record alongside your request whichever of these your browser already holds: the campaign tag, with the page you landed on and when, and the Google Analytics identifiers from its cookies. That is how we tell which guide and which channel brought you to us.

Our legal basis

For the guide and anything we email you afterwards, it is your consent. You gave it by ticking the box, and you can take it back at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by writing to us.

For purchases it is the contract between us. For keeping records of consent and of sales it is our legal obligation and our legitimate interest in being able to show we did things properly.

Who else sees it

Our email platform, so we can send you what you asked for. Stripe, for payments. Google, for analytics. Our hosting providers, because the data sits on their machines. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

We also tell Meta when someone asks for a guide or buys Awaken Barre or Love Your Core, so we can measure our advertising. For a guide, Meta's pixel in your browser reports the sign-up and which guide was requested. For a purchase of Awaken Barre or Love Your Core, our server also sends Meta a report of the sale: a hashed version of your email address, your IP address and browser type, the identifiers Meta's pixel sets in your browser, the amount, and the name of the programme you bought. Buying The Core Nutrition Reset sends Meta no report of the purchase at all. Your card details are never part of any of it, because we never see them.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets one cookie of its own: it stops a purchase being counted twice, and it does not identify you.

We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and where visitors come from. It sets the _ga cookies, which last up to two years. If you arrive from a link we have tagged, your browser also keeps the campaign tag, and we use it for 90 days.

We use Meta's pixel to measure whether our Instagram and Facebook ads led to a visit or a purchase. It sets the _fbp cookie, and _fbc when you arrived from a Meta ad, for 90 days. When you buy Awaken Barre or Love Your Core, our server also tells Meta that a sale happened and which programme it was, using a hashed version of your email address, your IP address and browser type, and those identifiers. Buying The Core Nutrition Reset sends Meta no purchase report.

At the moment these run for every visitor, and there is no setting on this site to turn them off. Blocking or clearing this site's cookies in your browser removes the identifiers they store, but Google Analytics and Meta's pixel still report the pages you visit. It also makes no difference to the report our server sends Meta when you buy Awaken Barre or Love Your Core.

How long we keep it

Your address stays on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Records we have to keep for tax or accounting reasons are kept for as long as the law requires. Analytics data is retained on Google's standard schedule.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it for marketing, or ask for it in a portable form. Write to admin@silverliningswellbeing.com and we will answer within a month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would rather you told us first so we have a chance to put it right.

Changes

If this changes we will update this page and the date at the top. The version here is the one that applies on the day you use the site.
